We are pleased to announce that one of our clients, 8183 Studio, has recently received two honors from The Communicator Awards for a responsive website redesign we launched for them last year. The first award was presented to 8183 for the website’s homepage design and the second for the website’s unique visual appeal.
8183 Studio is a commercial photography studio located in the heart of Kansas City in the Crossroads District. The studio specializes in people, still life and food and beverage photography. The owners came to us looking for a clean, simple and slick interface with all the bells and whistles under the hood, including full presentation mode with thumbnails and keyboard controls.
TANK designed a minimal interface that never gets in the way of their vibrant photography work. The new homepage was specifically designed for visual impact and to allow visitors to seamlessly experience a full range of the studio’s best work on a single page. The key to the visual appeal was maintaining the highest image quality on any device without the typical slow load times of other photography portfolios. Our development team really worked some magic here to make sure all of the large images always look great and adapt to load smoothly at any size or resolution.

The Communicator Awards honor creative excellence for marketing and communication professionals. It is one of the largest international programs in the world with over 6,000 entries annually from all different sizes of companies and agencies.
